RARE BIRD SPOTTED

Twitchers in Walsall have spotetd a rare bird usuially only found in the Merditeranian, the RSPB has said.

The great white egret was seen at The Swagg in Stubbers Green, Aldrige. The group said it was likely that recent gales had brought it inland.

The heron-like bird is usually fond only in the Mediterranian, with only a handful reaching the UK each year.
